International British Curriculum Schools
British schools follow a curriculum from the United Kingdom, which is usually adjusted to international education requirements. International Baccalaureate and Cambridge International Examinations are international versions of British international education. British curriculum schools are the most frequent found in Bangkok and Thailand, mostly due to the long-standing relationship between the two royal families.
Education in the United Kingdom is a devolved matter with each of the countries of the United Kingdom having separate systems under separate governments: the UK Government is responsible for England, and the Scottish Government, the Welsh Assembly Government and the Northern Ireland Executive are responsible for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, respectively. While the systems in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are more similar, the Scottish system is quite different.
British international schools in Bangkok and Thailand are well adjusted to the needs of employed parents, beginning with schools hours and after school activities, up to part or full boarding at some schools.
